Giving Tuesday Insight: Why & How You Can Help Women Lead

The disruptive challenges of the past year culturally, economically and politically, highlight the fact that independent funding for resources aimed at improving the lives and livelihoods of women and girls makes a difference. More is needed.

Giving Tuesday, December 2, the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is the vehicle that powers many non-profits, institutions and movements. That includes Take The Lead, with  the mission to “prepare, develop, inspire, and propels all women of all diversities and intersectionalities to take their fair and equal share of leadership positions across all sectors.”

Is Menopause Shame A Thing?

New research shows an irony in how women leaders are treated in mid-life. "Symptoms like hot flashes and “brain fog” are typical signs of entering menopause, and they’ve been linked to diminished self-efficacy and increased absences and can lead others to perceive women as “less leader-like,” studies show. However, new "research also shows that a whopping 87% of midlife women said that menopause did not disrupt their work." According to the Harvard Business Review, to change the stigma, leaders "used their leadership skills to educate and advocate for themselves."
Take The Lead prepares, develops, inspires, and propels all women of all diversities and intersectionalities to take their fair and equal share of leadership positions across all sectors by 2025.
