Super Stress in Chaos: How to Manage Your Team and Yourself With Care
This is not an April Fool’s joke: Women are more stressed than men at work now. Maybe that is not even a surprise. Yes, the stress you feel is real and most everybody in America right now is feeling it at work and home—it is just apparently affecting women more. Denying the stress is counterproductive; how you handle it is key to reducing its impact on you and the entire workplace culture. “The truth
is courage to lead isn’t knowing all the answers. It’s stepping forward even when you don’t,” writes Gloria Feldt, co-founder and president of Take The Lead. “Nor is leadership about waiting for the perfect moment — it’s about creating the moment. And it isn’t reserved for CEOs or political figures — it’s for all of us, wherever we are.”
The Power ToBuild Stronger Futures: Mentorship and Military Spouses
By Kasey Kelly
Women’s History Month has just concluded and it is a time to celebrate the strength, determination, and achievements of women throughout history. It’s also a time to reflect on how we can uplift and support one another.
As a military spouse, I know firsthand the challenges that come with this life. Frequent relocations stall career growth, create employment gaps, and make it difficult to build professional networks. Many of us find ourselves stationed in rural areas with limited job opportunities, making career advancement even harder.
Not an April Fools’ Joke: 😇 Smell the Pivotal Blessing
The delicately sweet aroma of citrus blossoms brought back a powerful sensation as I stepped outside of my Arizona home this April Fools’ Day.
It was the scent I’d first experienced on this exact date: April 1, 1978.
I had taken a late evening flight from my Odessa, Texas home to Phoenix the night before, following a quick trip to a department store to buy a proper suit for an interview that had come a year sooner than my intentions.
On the morning of April 1, I stepped out into the bright Arizona sun.
Care. Acknowledge the extreme stress of these times and care thoughtfully for yourself, colleagues and your team.
