Who’s Professional? How and Why Women Are Key To Healthcare Leadership
The Department of Education recently declassified nursing—plus physical therapy, audiology, physician assistance and more—as careers not deserving of the professional title.  What that means is no longer will anyone seeking those degrees qualify for higher amounts on student loans. It also reinforces gender-biased hierarchy.

Women are the hardest hit and are paying for it--literally.

Your support enables Take The Lead to advance women’s leadership despite current policy reversals and to provide scholarships to our "life changing" programs for women who have been displaced by government and other cuts.
It’s a great time to reflect on how together we can serve women like Amelia, who said:
"The experience was transformative. Being surrounded by powerful, purpose-driven women shifted something in me. It affirmed my belief that I am not alone in my mission to create change and it opened doors for networking, collaboration, and growth. Since then, I have expanded my experience across multiple fields — from community development to advocacy, systems navigation, and innovative problem-solving. I’ve faced adversity, but I’ve used it as fuel to push forward, evolve, and support others along the way. Every step of my journey has sharpened my voice and deepened my resolve to make a meaningful impact."

Shareholder Activists Aim To Replace Women CEOs

A new Conference Board report on shareholder activity shows that women CEOs are actively sought to be replaced by shareholders holding certain points of view. Axios reports, "Women CEOs accounted for only 6.3% of the companies in the Russell 3000 stock index from 2018 to 2025 — yet 15.75% of activist campaigns that publicly criticized the company leader were aimed at women CEOs over that period. Who was targeted? Vicki Hollub as CEO of Occidental Petroleum; Duke Energy CEO Lynn Good, Victoria Secret's CEO Hillary Super, and more.  The report states, "Women CEOs, may be more likely to be put under a microscope and judged more harshly than men."
Take The Lead prepares, develops, inspires, and propels all women of all diversities and intersectionalities to take their fair and equal share of leadership positions across all sectors by 2025.
