Be The Best Leader Following Disasters: Strategies To Rebuild Workplaces For Recovery
Beyond the recent tragic hurricanes, the recurrent wildfires, tornadoes, and earthquakes also disrupt and destroy businesses and workplaces, leaving employees with enormous personal loss, perhaps even
fatalities of loved ones. This forces leaders to have a plan ready for emergencies that benefit employees hit by these crises.
So how can you be a great leader following devastation so your employees, colleagues, managers, clients, suppliers, and administrators can press restart? It may take weeks, months, or more to right the ship and return to normal, but the tone of delivery and transparency on progress messages are essential to survival and future success.
The Power To Make Pregnancy & Postpartum Life Healthier, Happier, Easier
By Helen Curran
My passion for supporting mothers stems from my own experiences. Having navigated the challenges of motherhood while building a career in international business and marketing, I understand the unique needs of this audience. From my early days in Europe, working across Spain and France, to honing my skills at brands like Tommee Tippee and Berghaus, I've always been driven to make a difference.
I was so sad to learn of the death ofLilly Ledbetter, a leader of the movement for pay equity. She was moved by her own story to fight for equal pay regardless of gender first for herself, and then for all women. After learning that her pay had been for years substantially less than male coworkers doing the same job, Lilly became the plaintiff in the United States Supreme Court case Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co, suing on the basis of
employment discrimination. While she had won in lower courts, the SCOTUS ruled against her, claiming she had brought suit after the law’s time limitations, Lilly’s impact through her activism became a nationwide movement.
This course isn’t just about learning leadership skills—it’s about stepping fully into the leader you’re meant to be with the mindset, skills and an action plan that will take you where previously, you’ve only dreamed you could be -- and turn that dream into reality.
What people say:
“I was
hesitant in taking the class because I wasn't sure what I would get out of it or if I would have the time to complete the coursework. Never in my career have I sat down to really think about what I want for my future and what steps I would take to get there. I have always gone through the motions and waited for someone to tap me on the shoulder for my next opportunity. This class came at a time when the next opportunity wasn't coming quick enough. It is because of this class that I felt empowered to go after a role that I was truly interested in versus a job that someone else thought I should be in.” ~Nikeeia Harris, Category Manager, Rx, McKesson
