Hi Friend,
Dr. Winter Okoth’s story begins in the slums of Nairobi and the remote villages of Kisumu, Kenya. She studied under moonlight, mentored her classmates, and dared to dream beyond what the world told her was possible.
Today, she is a global health researcher, a first-generation PhD, and the founder of the Pamoja Kenya Mentorship Alliance, a grassroots movement supporting underserved youth through education and leadership.
She has now been named a 2025 Power Tool Champion, Trailblazer Awardee by Take The Lead.
Winter is one of the extraordinary women leaders you’ll meet this August at Power Up Courage to Lead Concert & Conference, our flagship conference and concert in Washington, D.C. This two-day experience is a celebration of women who are transforming their industries, their communities, and the future.
Winter participated in Take The Lead's very first 9 Leadership Power Tools course, a groundbreaking program designed to equip women with the practical strategies, mindset shifts, and confidence to lead boldly.
For Winter, the experience was more than just a course, it was a catalyst. It gave her new frameworks for influence, the tools to amplify her voice, and a network of women leaders who continue to inspire her today. She calls it a true turning point in her leadership journey.
