Jump or Hang On: Women's Glass Cliff Is Real

The glass cliff is not new. And yes, it is a very real and dangerous precipice for women leaders around the world in every industry. It is up to you to decide if you want to scale it.

Just ask Chris Bradley, an Australia-based McKinsey & Company senior partner who was removed  “from his leadership role at the firm’s research arm after he posted online comments questioning the uphill battle female executives face in the workplace.”

Tips For October, Women's Small Business Awareness Month
This real talk is from Girl Talk: In the U.S. 49% of all new businesses launched in 2024 were started by women, compared with 29% in 2019.
  • A $1 million year works out to about $83,000 a month. For a service business charging $2,000 a month, that’s roughly 42 active clients, a goal most founders can picture.
  • Five real sales conversations a day add up to more than 1,000 a year.

The Power To Modernize An Industry From The Inside

By Zebo Karim

I didn’t set out to build a trucking insurance agency. While running a safety and compliance business serving trucking companies, I saw firsthand how difficult insurance could be for fleet owners.

Trucking is an incredibly specialized industry, yet much of the insurance process still relies on manual work, disconnected systems and technology that wasn’t built around how trucking risk is actually evaluated. I saw fleet owners spending too much time navigating processes that should have been simpler, while insurance professionals were working with systems that often created more work instead of helping them make better decisions.

Glass Cliff? Not Lisa Su and Fei-Fei Li. They Creat Their Own Terrain

The Grace Hopper Celebration is canceled, and the internet is acting as if the sky has fallen.

The news is ricocheting around the web like a billiard ball run amok. The organizers say their usual sponsors didn't come through and ticket sales were weak.

Welcome to my world. Welcome to the world of every women's conference in 2026.

Everyone has a theory. Some blame the inclusion of men in recent years. Others blame the weak economy.

Here's what I saw running Take The Lead's Power Up Conference this year: companies stopped sponsoring conferences and buying their employees' tickets because their courage ran out. A few years ago, they were beating their chests about DEI and women's advancement. At the first whiff of political pushback, some revealed they never meant it. The rest decided to feed the crocodile and hope it eats them last; Winston Churchill's picture of an appeaser.

Events, Courses And Trainings

The Midlife Brain: How Perimenopause and Menopause Shape the Brain—and the Workplace
Virtual Symposium | October 21–22

Brain fog, forgetfulness, and disrupted sleep often show up right when women are leading teams, building companies, and moving toward the C-suite. Too often, women doubt their own competence, and workplaces mistake symptoms for performance issues.

Brain fog is a symptom. It's not a measure of competence.

We're thrilled to partner with FLE for this important virtual conversation.

Why it matters:

  • 1 in 10 women working through menopause have left their jobs because of symptoms (Fawcett Society, 2022)
  • 1 in 6 have considered leaving because of inadequate support (CIPD, 2023)
  • Two-thirds say symptoms hurt their concentration, stress, and confidence at work (CIPD, 2023)
Over two days, the symposium brings together neuroscience, clinical expertise, and lived experience to explore what's happening in the midlife brain, along with practical strategies to support and retain experienced women at work.

Who it's for: professionals navigating symptoms now, HR leaders ready to move from reactive to proactive support, and companies innovating in this space.
